Our Funders
Leanne Harvey
As University Registrar, it is important to me to look for opportunities to utilise QUT’s research capability within and for the benefit of QUT itself. Supporting THRIVE’s indoor air quality project and retrofitting of QUT’s Science and Engineering Centre (P Block) lets me do that in a way that exemplifies the transformative potential of research with both QUT and real-world impact.
This project not only advances scientific and technological innovation but also prioritises the health and wellbeing of our QUT community.

Kanro
Kanro, a philanthropic fund dedicated to airborne pandemic prevention and global public health, has provided USD 1 million in support of this project. The fund was established by Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, who generously donated this amount as part of his commitment to advancing public health initiatives. Mr. Buterin has previously made significant contributions in this field—both in Australia and internationally—including projects aimed at reducing the burden of chronic diseases, particularly Long COVID.
Australian Research Council & Thrive Partners
The P Block Project also benefits from in-kind support provided by Thrive. We extend our gratitude to the Australian Research Council and our national and international partners for funding the Thrive program. Under this banner, we are delivering transformational, evidence-based research with real-world impact—driving policy conversations to establish an indoor air quality standard that protects public health.
